Kerr County Disaster Relief
In response to the recent flooding in Kerr County, TX, families are in need of urgent support.
We are deploying volunteers to Kerrville to assist families recovering from the recent flood. This is a powerful opportunity to serve in-person and support survivors in both practical and compassionate ways. If you want to bring people to serve alongside you, please make sure they are registered as we are limited on space at this time.
What we will be doing:
- Cleanup work: assist with debris removal, muck-out, and yard clearing
- Personal items recovery: help families locate and recover lost or scattered personal belongings
- Requirements:
– Must be physically able to perform outdoor labor (cleanup roles, especially)
– Bring your own equipment if possible: gloves, shovels, rakes, safety gear, etc.
– Willing to serve with flexibility and a heart to help in multiple ways
Meeting Location: Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) 220 Thompson Dr, Kerrville, TX 78028
Time: You are welcome to serve any time between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM—stay as long as you’re able
Check-In Instructions: When you arrive, look for the ADRN sign and check in with our team. You will need to sign a volunteer waiver before beginning work. If you need assistance upon arrival, please ask for Jaclyn—she is the Volunteer Manager and will be happy to help.
What to Bring:
- Water and snacks (meals will not be provided)
- Work gloves and cleanup tools, if you have them
- Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor cleanup work
